उत्तरकाण्ड 7.47

राम के अमृत-समान वचन सुनते ही सबने कृपा के धाम राम के चरण पकड़ लिए।

Hearing Rama’s nectar-like words, everyone clasped the feet of Rama, the abode of compassion.

हे कृपा के भंडार! आप हमारी माता, पिता, गुरु और बंधु हैं तथा प्राणों से भी प्यारे हैं।

O treasury of compassion, you are our mother, father, teacher, and kinsman, dearer to us than life itself.

हे राम! आप हमारे शरीर, धन और घर के हितकारी हैं; आप हर प्रकार से शरणागतों की पीड़ा हरने वाले हैं।

O Rama, you care for our bodies, wealth, and homes; in every way you remove the distress of those who seek your refuge.

आपके बिना ऐसी शिक्षा कोई नहीं देता; माता-पिता भी अपने स्वार्थ में लगे रहते हैं।

No one other than you gives such instruction; even mothers and fathers are occupied with their own interests.

हे असुरों के शत्रु! संसार में बिना स्वार्थ उपकार करने वाले दो ही हैं—आप और आपका सेवक।

O foe of demons, two in this world do good without self-interest: you and your servant.

हे प्रभु! सारे संसार में लोग स्वार्थ के लिए मित्र होते हैं; निःस्वार्थ परहित तो स्वप्न में भी नहीं होता।

O Lord, throughout the world people are friends for self-interest; selfless concern for others is not found even in dreams.
