रात हो गई जानकर चारों सैन्य-दलों के वानर वहाँ आए जहाँ कोसल के स्वामी राम थे।

Knowing that night had fallen, the monkeys of all four divisions came to where Rama, lord of Kosala, was.

राम ने कृपा करके सबको देखा; उसी क्षण वानरों की थकान दूर हो गई।

Rama graciously looked upon them all, and at once the monkeys were freed from fatigue.

उधर रावण ने मंत्रियों को बुलाया और सबको उन वीर योद्धाओं के विषय में बताया जो मारे गए थे।

Meanwhile, Ravana summoned his ministers and told them all about the valiant warriors who had been killed.

वानरों ने आधी सेना का संहार कर दिया है। शीघ्र बताओ, क्या उपाय सोचा जाए?

The monkeys have destroyed half the army. Tell me quickly: what course should we consider?

माल्यवंत अत्यंत वृद्ध राक्षस था; वह रावण की माता का पिता और श्रेष्ठ मंत्री था।
