वे तोमर, मुग्दर, प्रचंड कुल्हाड़े, शूल, तलवारें, लोहे के डंडे और पर्वत के टुकड़े लिए थे।

They carried javelins, heavy clubs, formidable axes, spears, swords, iron bludgeons, and chunks of mountain rock.

जैसे लाल मणियों का ढेर देखकर मूर्ख मांसाहारी पक्षी दौड़ पड़ते हैं—

Just as foolish flesh-eating birds rush upon seeing a heap of red gems—

उन्हें चोंच टूटने का दुःख नहीं सूझता; वैसे ही नासमझ मनुष्यभक्षी राक्षस दौड़ पड़े।

They do not foresee the pain of their beaks breaking; likewise, the uncomprehending man-eating demons rushed forward.

नाना अस्त्र, बाण और धनुष धारण किए हुए बलवान, वीर राक्षस—

The strong, valiant demons, bearing various weapons, arrows, and bows—

करोड़ों-करोड़ रणधीर योद्धा किले के कँगूरों पर चढ़ गए।

Crores upon crores of battle-stalwart warriors climbed onto the fort’s battlements.
