तुमने उसके चार मुकुट यहाँ भेजे। प्रिय पुत्र, बताओ, उन्हें किस प्रकार प्राप्त किया?

You sent four of his crowns here. Dear son, tell me how you obtained them.

अंगद बोले: हे सर्वज्ञ, शरणागतों को सुख देने वाले, सुनिए। वे मुकुट नहीं हैं, बल्कि राजा के चार गुण हैं।

Angada replied: Listen, all-knowing giver of happiness to those who seek refuge. They are not crowns, but four royal qualities.

हे नाथ, वेद कहते हैं कि साम, दान, दंड और भेद राजा के हृदय में बसते हैं।

Lord, the Vedas say that conciliation, gifts, punishment, and division dwell in a king's heart.

ये नीति और धर्म के सुंदर चरण हैं। मन में ऐसा जानकर ये आपके पास आ गए, हे नाथ।

These are the noble feet of statecraft and righteousness. Recognizing this in their hearts, they came to you, Lord.

दशशीश रावण धर्महीन, प्रभु के चरणों से विमुख और काल के वश में है।

Ten-headed Ravana is devoid of righteousness, turned away from the Lord's feet, and subject to doom.

हे कोसल के स्वामी, सुनिए: वे गुण रावण को छोड़कर आपके पास आ गए हैं।

Listen, Lord of Kosala: those qualities abandoned Ravana and came to you.

अंगद की अत्यंत चतुर बात कानों से सुनकर उदार राम मुस्कराए।

Hearing Angada's exceedingly clever words, gracious Rama smiled.
