यदि तुम्हारे मन में बहुत संदेह है, तो जाकर परीक्षा क्यों नहीं लेतीं?

शिव की अनुमति पाकर सती चलीं और सोचने लगीं, ‘भला मैं क्या करूँ?’

इधर शिव ने मन में ऐसा अनुमान किया कि दक्ष की पुत्री सती का कल्याण नहीं होने वाला।
