बालकाण्ड 1.45

हे नाथ, मेरे मन में एक बड़ा संदेह है; वेदों का समस्त तत्त्व आपके पूर्ण ज्ञान में है।

Master, I have a great doubt; the entire essential truth of the Vedas is within your grasp.

उस संदेह को कहते हुए मुझे भय और संकोच होता है; लेकिन यदि न कहूँ तो बड़ी हानि होगी।

I feel fear and embarrassment in expressing that doubt; but if I do not speak, great harm will result.

हे प्रभु, संत ऐसी नीति कहते हैं, और वेद, पुराण तथा मुनि भी इसका प्रतिपादन करते हैं:

Lord, the saints state this principle, and the Vedas, Puranas, and sages proclaim it as well:

गुरु से बात छिपाने पर हृदय में निर्मल विवेक उत्पन्न नहीं होता।

Pure discernment does not arise in the heart when one conceals things from one's teacher.
