बचपन में हमने बहुत-सी छोटी धनुहियाँ तोड़ीं; हे स्वामी, आपने कभी ऐसा क्रोध नहीं किया।

In childhood we broke many little bows; master, you never showed such anger.

इस धनुष से इतनी ममता किस कारण है? यह सुनकर भृगुवंश के ध्वजस्वरूप परशुराम क्रुद्ध होकर बोले।

Why this attachment to this bow? Hearing this, Parashurama, the standard-bearer of Bhrigu’s lineage, spoke angrily.

अरे राजकुमार, काल के वश में होकर बोल रहे हो; तुम्हें अपनी वाणी की सुध नहीं है।

You royal child! You speak under death’s sway, with no awareness of what you are saying.

क्या त्रिपुर के शत्रु शिव का धनुष छोटी धनुही के समान है? उसका महत्त्व सारे संसार में प्रसिद्ध है।
