अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.204

मैं अपना धर्म छोड़कर भीख माँगता हूँ; दुख से व्याकुल व्यक्ति कौन-सा अनुचित काम नहीं कर बैठता?

Abandoning my own duty, I ask for alms; what wrongful act will a distressed person not commit?

ऐसा मन में समझकर संसार के समझदार और उदार दानी याचक की प्रार्थना पूरी करते हैं।

Understanding this in their hearts, wise and generous donors in the world fulfill a supplicant’s plea.

मुझे न धन की, न धर्म की, न भोगों की रुचि है; मैं निर्वाणरूपी मुक्ति भी नहीं चाहता।

I have no desire for wealth, religious merit, or worldly pleasures; nor do I seek the state of liberation.

जन्म-जन्म राम के चरणों में प्रेम बना रहे—यही वरदान चाहिए, कोई दूसरा नहीं।

May I have love for Rama’s feet in birth after birth—this alone is the boon I seek, no other.
