वे राम का स्वभाव खुले रूप में बखानने लगे। अत्यधिक प्रेम के कारण उनका छिपाव भूल गया।

They openly began praising Rama’s nature. In their deep affection, they forgot to conceal themselves.

तब वानरों ने उन्हें शत्रु के दूत पहचान लिया और सबको बाँधकर वानरराज सुग्रीव के पास ले आए।

The monkeys then recognized them as the enemy’s messengers, bound them all, and brought them before Sugriva, the monkey king.

सुग्रीव ने कहा, ‘हे सब वानरों, सुनो! इन राक्षसों के अंग भंग करके इन्हें भेज दो।’

Sugriva said, ‘Listen, all you monkeys! Mutilate these demons’ limbs and send them away.’

सुग्रीव के वचन सुनकर वानर दौड़े। दूतों को बाँधकर सेना में चारों ओर घुमाया।

Hearing Sugriva’s words, the monkeys rushed forward. They bound the messengers and paraded them all around the army.

वानर उन्हें अनेक प्रकार से मारने लगे। वे दीन होकर पुकारते रहे, फिर भी वानरों ने उन्हें नहीं छोड़ा।

The monkeys began beating them in many ways. They cried out pitiably, yet the monkeys did not let them go.

दूतों ने कहा, ‘जो हमारी नाक और कान काटे, उसे कोसलाधीश राम की दुहाई है।’

The messengers said, ‘Against anyone who cuts off our noses and ears, we invoke Rama, the lord of Kosala.’
