सुन्दरकाण्ड 5.33

प्रभु राम बार-बार हनुमान को उठाना चाहते हैं, पर प्रेम में मग्न हनुमान को उठना अच्छा नहीं लगता।

Lord Rama repeatedly wishes to raise Hanuman, but Hanuman, absorbed in love, does not wish to get up.

प्रभु का कमल-समान हाथ हनुमान के सिर पर है। उस दशा को स्मरण करके गौरीपति शिव मग्न हो जाते हैं।

The Lord’s lotus-like hand rests on Hanuman’s head. Recalling that scene, Shiva, Gauri’s husband, becomes absorbed.

फिर शिव ने मन को सचेत करके अत्यंत सुंदर कथा कहना आरंभ किया।

Then Shiva collected his mind and began to tell the exceedingly beautiful story.

प्रभु ने हनुमान को उठाकर हृदय से लगाया और उनका हाथ पकड़कर अपने अत्यंत निकट बैठाया।

The Lord raised Hanuman and embraced him, then took his hand and seated him very close.

हे हनुमान, बताओ, रावण द्वारा रक्षित लंका के अत्यंत दुर्जेय दुर्ग को तुमने किस प्रकार जलाया?

Tell me, Hanuman: how did you burn Lanka, that formidable fortress guarded by Ravana?

हनुमान ने जाना कि प्रभु प्रसन्न हैं और अहंकार से रहित वचन बोले।

Hanuman understood that the Lord was pleased and spoke words free of pride.
