भय से व्याकुल वानर भागने लगे, यद्यपि हे उमा, आगे चलकर वे जीतेंगे।

Overcome with fear, the monkeys began to flee, although, O Uma, they would eventually win.

कोई कहता है, अंगद और हनुमान कहाँ हैं? बलवान नल, नील और द्विविद कहाँ हैं?

Someone asks, “Where are Angada and Hanuman? Where are the mighty Nala, Nila, and Dvivida?”

बलवान हनुमान, जो पश्चिमी द्वार पर थे, ने सुना कि उनका अपना दल व्याकुल है।

Mighty Hanuman, who was stationed at the western gate, heard that his own army was distressed.

मेघनाद वहाँ युद्ध कर रहा था; द्वार टूट नहीं रहा था और बड़ी कठिनाई थी।

Meghnada was fighting there; the gate would not break, and the difficulty was immense.

पवनपुत्र हनुमान के मन में अत्यंत क्रोध हुआ। वह प्रबल योद्धा काल के समान गरजे।

Intense anger arose in Hanuman, the Wind-god’s son. The mighty warrior roared like Death.

हनुमान कूदकर लंका के दुर्ग के ऊपर आ गए और पर्वत पकड़कर मेघनाद की ओर दौड़े।

Hanuman leapt onto Lanka’s fortress and, grasping a mountain, charged at Meghnada.
