अंगद ने रावण को पकड़कर भूमि पर पटक दिया और लात मारी; फिर बालि के पुत्र प्रभु राम के पास चले गए।

Angada seized Ravana, threw him to the ground, and kicked him; then Bali’s son went to Lord Rama.

अपने को सँभालकर रावण उठा और भयानक, कठोर स्वर में गरजने लगा।

Recovering himself, Ravana rose and began roaring in a terrible, harsh voice.

अहंकार दिखाते हुए रावण ने दस धनुष चढ़ाए और बाणों का संधान करके बहुत बाण बरसाने लगा।

Displaying his arrogance, Ravana readied ten bows and, aiming his arrows, showered them in great numbers.

उसने सभी योद्धाओं को घायल और भय से व्याकुल कर दिया; अपना पराक्रम देखकर वह प्रसन्न हुआ।

He left all the warriors wounded and overwhelmed with fear, and rejoiced at the sight of his own prowess.

तब रघुपति राम ने रावण के सिर, भुजाएँ, बाण और धनुष—

Then Rama, lord of the Raghu line, cut Ravana’s heads, arms, arrows, and bows—

बहुत बार काटे; फिर भी सिर और भुजाएँ फिर बढ़ गईं, जैसे तीर्थ में किया गया पाप बढ़ता है।

He cut them repeatedly; yet the heads and arms grew back, just as sin committed at a pilgrimage site increases.
