डींग हाँककर अपना सुयश नष्ट मत करो; नीति की बात सुनो और क्षमा करो।

संसार में मनुष्य तीन प्रकार के हैं—पाटल, आम और कटहल के वृक्षों के समान।

People in the world are of three kinds, like the flowering pāṭal tree, the mango tree, and the jackfruit tree.

एक केवल फूल देता है, एक में फूल और फल दोनों लगते हैं, और एक में केवल फल ही लगते हैं।

One yields flowers alone, one bears both flowers and fruit, and one bears fruit alone.

कुछ लोग केवल कहते हैं; दूसरे कहते भी हैं और करते भी हैं; और कुछ करते हैं, पर कहने में नहीं लगे रहते।

Some only talk; others both talk and act; still others act without occupying themselves with talk.

राम के वचन सुनकर रावण हँसा और बोला, ‘मुझे ज्ञान सिखा रहे हो!’

Hearing Rama’s words, Ravana laughed: ‘You are teaching me wisdom!’

‘जब वैर कर रहे थे, तब नहीं डरे; अब प्राण प्यारे लगने लगे हैं!’
