हे शोभा के धाम राम, आपकी जय हो! आप शरणागतों को विश्राम देने वाले हैं।

Victory to Rama, the abode of beauty, who grants repose to those who bow before him.

आप तरकस, श्रेष्ठ बाण और धनुष धारण किए हुए हैं; आपकी दंड-समान भुजाओं का प्रताप प्रबल है।

You bear a quiver, excellent arrows, and a bow; mighty is the prowess of your staff-like arms.

दूषण और खर के शत्रु, राक्षसों के समूह का संहार करने वाले, आपकी जय हो!

Victory to you, foe of Dushana and Khara, crusher of the hosts of demons!

हे नाथ, आपने इस दुष्ट को मार दिया; सभी देवता अब रक्षक पाकर सनाथ हो गए।

O Lord, you have slain this wicked one; all the gods now have a protector.

पृथ्वी का भार हरने वाले, आपकी जय हो! आपकी महिमा महान और असीम है।

Victory to you who remove the earth’s burden! Your glory is exalted and boundless.

हे कृपालु रावण के शत्रु, आपकी जय हो! आपने राक्षसों को बेहाल कर दिया।

Victory to you, compassionate foe of Ravana! You have brought the demons to distress.

लंका के राजा रावण को अपने बल का बहुत गर्व था; उसने देवताओं और गंधर्वों को अपने वश में कर लिया था।

Ravana, lord of Lanka, was exceedingly proud of his strength; he had subdued the gods and celestial musicians.

वह मुनियों, सिद्धों, मनुष्यों, पक्षियों और नागों—सबके मार्ग में हठपूर्वक बाधा डालता था।

He obstinately obstructed the paths of sages, perfected beings, humans, birds, and serpent beings alike.

दूसरों का अहित करने में लगा वह अत्यंत दुष्ट पापी अपने कर्मों का फल पा गया।

That utterly wicked sinner, intent on harming others, received the fruit of his deeds.

अब सुनिए, हे दीनों पर दया करने वाले, विशाल कमल-समान नेत्रों वाले प्रभु!

Now listen, O compassionate Lord of the lowly, whose large eyes are like lotuses!

मुझे बहुत अभिमान था कि मेरे समान कोई नहीं है।

I was very proud, thinking that no one was my equal.

अब प्रभु के कमल-समान चरण देखकर मेरा वह अभिमान मिट गया, जो दुखों के ढेर देता था।

Now, seeing the Lord’s lotus feet, my pride—which brought heaps of sorrow—has vanished.

कोई उस निर्गुण ब्रह्म का ध्यान करे, जिसे वेद अव्यक्त कहकर गाते हैं।

Let others meditate on the attributeless Absolute, whom the Vedas praise as unmanifest.

मुझे तो कोसल के राजा श्रीराम का सगुण स्वरूप प्रिय है।

For me, the manifest form endowed with attributes—Shri Rama, king of Kosala—is dear.

सीता और छोटे भाई लक्ष्मण सहित मेरे हृदय में निवास कीजिए।

Together with Sita and your younger brother Lakshmana, make your dwelling in my heart.

मुझे अपना सेवक मानिए और भक्ति दीजिए, हे लक्ष्मी के निवासस्वरूप प्रभु!

Regard me as your own servant and grant me devotion, O Lord who is the abode of Lakshmi!

भक्ति दीजिए, हे लक्ष्मी के निवासस्वरूप प्रभु, भय हरने वाले और शरण में आए लोगों को सुख देने वाले!

Grant me devotion, O abode of Lakshmi, remover of fear and giver of happiness to those who seek refuge!

मैं सुख के धाम राम, अनेक कामदेवों की शोभा वाले रघुकुल के नायक को नमस्कार करता हूँ।

I bow to Rama, the abode of happiness and leader of Raghu’s lineage, whose beauty embodies that of many gods of love.

वे देवताओं के समूह को आनंद देने वाले, द्वंद्वों को मिटाने वाले और मानव शरीर में अतुलनीय बल वाले हैं।

He delights the hosts of gods, dispels dualities, and possesses incomparable strength in a human body.

मैं ब्रह्मा आदि और शंकर द्वारा पूजनीय, करुणा से कोमल राम को नमस्कार करता हूँ।

I bow to Rama, worshipped by Brahma and others and by Shiva, tender with compassion.
