बताओ, ऐसा वर पाकर कौन-सा सुख मिलेगा? उस ठग के बहकावे में तुम खूब भूल कर बैठीं।

Tell us, what happiness could such a bridegroom bring? Misled by that deceiver, you have gone badly astray.

पंचों के कहने पर शिव ने सती से विवाह किया; फिर उन्हें उपेक्षित करके मरवा दिया।

At the elders’ urging, Shiva married Sati; then, neglecting her, he caused her death.

अब शिव सुख से सोते हैं, कोई चिंता नहीं; भीख माँगकर खाते हैं।

Now Shiva sleeps comfortably, without a care, and eats by begging.

जो स्वभाव से अकेले रहने वाले हैं, उनके घर में भला स्त्रियाँ कभी निभ सकती हैं?

Can women ever fit into the household of one who is solitary by nature?
