राजा दशरथ ने फिर भरत को बुला लिया और कहा, “जाकर घोड़े, हाथी और रथ तैयार करो।”

King Dasharatha then summoned Bharata and said, “Go and prepare the horses, elephants, and chariots.”

“रघुवीर राम की बरात में शीघ्र चलो।” सुनते ही दोनों भाई भरत और शत्रुघ्न रोमांच से भर गए।

“Proceed quickly with Rama’s wedding procession.” On hearing this, both brothers, Bharata and Shatrughna, thrilled with joy.

भरत ने सभी अश्व-व्यवस्था के अधिकारियों को बुलाकर आज्ञा दी; वे प्रसन्न होकर उठे और दौड़ पड़े।

Bharata summoned all the officers responsible for the horses and gave his orders; delighted, they rose and hurried off.

उन्होंने सुंदर ढंग से जीन सजाकर घोड़ों को तैयार किया। नाना रंगों के उत्तम घोड़े शोभायमान हुए।

They fitted the horses with tastefully arranged saddles. Excellent horses of many colors stood splendidly adorned.

सभी घोड़े सुंदर थे और उनकी चाल-चेष्टा अत्यंत चंचल थी; धरती पर पाँव रखते ही वे ऐसे चिहुँकते थे, मानो धरती तपते लोहे की तरह जला रही हो।

All the horses were handsome and exceedingly restless in movement; as they set their feet on the ground, they reacted as though it burned like hot iron.

वे इतनी अनेक नस्लों के थे कि उनका वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता। मानो वे हवा को तुच्छ समझकर उड़ जाना चाहते हों।

They belonged to so many breeds that they could not all be described. They seemed to scorn the wind itself and wish to take flight.
