जब कौसल्या बुलाने जाती हैं, तब प्रभु ठुमक-ठुमककर उनसे दूर चल देते हैं।

When Kausalya goes to call him, the Lord toddles away from her.

वेद जिन्हें ‘यह नहीं’ कहकर निरूपित करते हैं और शिव भी जिनका अंत नहीं पा सके, उन्हीं को पकड़ने के लिए माता हठपूर्वक दौड़ती हैं।

The mother determinedly runs to catch the very one whom the Vedas describe as ‘not this’ and whose limit even Shiva could not fathom.

राम धूल से धूसर, शरीर पर धूल भरे हुए आए; राजा ने हँसकर उन्हें गोद में बैठाया।

Rama came, dusty and covered with dust; the king smiled and seated him in his lap.

भोजन करते हुए उनका चंचल मन इधर-उधर लगा रहता है; अवसर पाते ही—

While eating, his restless attention wanders here and there; finding an opportunity—

वे किलकारियाँ भरते हुए भाग चले, मुख पर दही और भात लिपटा हुआ था।

He ran off with delighted squeals, curd and cooked rice smeared on his mouth.
