रावण ने दिशाओं के रक्षक देवताओं के सभी सुंदर लोक सूने पाए।

Ravana found all the lovely realms of the guardians of the directions deserted.

वह बार-बार प्रचंड सिंहनाद करता, देवताओं को ललकारता और गालियाँ देता था।

Again and again he gave mighty lion-like roars, challenging the gods and hurling insults at them.

युद्ध के मद में मत्त वह संसार में धावा बोलता फिरता था; प्रतिद्वंद्वी योद्धा खोजता, पर कहीं कोई नहीं पाता था।

Intoxicated with battle-pride, he ranged through the world on the attack; he sought an opposing warrior but found none anywhere.

सूर्य, चंद्रमा, पवन, वरुण, धनपति कुबेर, अग्नि, काल, यम और सभी अधिकारी देवता—

The Sun, the Moon, Wind, Varuna, Kubera the lord of wealth, Fire, Time, Yama, and all the divine rulers—

किन्नर, सिद्ध, मनुष्य, देवता और नाग—वह हठपूर्वक इन सबके पीछे पड़ गया।

Celestial kinnara beings, perfected adepts, humans, gods, and serpent beings—he relentlessly pursued them all.

ब्रह्मा की सृष्टि में जितने भी देहधारी नर और नारी थे, सभी रावण के वश में थे।

All embodied males and females throughout Brahma’s creation were under Ravana’s control.
