सभी भयभीत होकर उसकी आज्ञा का पालन करते और प्रतिदिन आकर विनम्रता से उसके चरणों में झुकते थे।

All obeyed his commands in fear and came daily to bow humbly at his feet.

अपने बाहुबल से उसने संसार को वश में कर रखा था; कोई स्वतंत्र नहीं था।

By the strength of his arms he kept the world subdued; no one was independent.

राजाओं में शिरोमणि रावण अपनी ही नीति और सलाह के अनुसार राज्य करता था।

Ravana, the foremost among kings, ruled according to his own counsel.

देवताओं, यक्षों, गंधर्वों, मनुष्यों, किन्नरों और नागों की कन्याएँ—

Daughters of gods, yakshas, celestial musicians, humans, kinnara beings, and serpent beings—

अपने बाहुबल से जीतकर उसने ऐसी अनेक सुंदर, उत्तम स्त्रियों को पत्नी बनाया।

Having conquered by his own strength of arms, he took many such beautiful, fine women as wives.
