जब हरि ने अपनी माया हटा दी, तब वहाँ न लक्ष्मी थीं, न राजकुमारी।

When Hari withdrew his illusion, neither Lakshmi nor the princess was there.

तब अत्यंत भयभीत नारद मुनि ने हरि के चरण पकड़कर कहा, ‘हे शरणागतों के दुःख हरने वाले, मेरी रक्षा कीजिए।’

Then the deeply frightened sage Narada clasped Hari’s feet, pleading, “Protect me, remover of the distress of those who seek refuge.”

‘हे कृपालु, मेरा शाप निष्फल हो जाए।’ दीनदयाल भगवान ने कहा, ‘यह मेरी इच्छा से हुआ है।’

“O merciful Lord, may my curse prove ineffective.” The Lord, compassionate to the afflicted, said, “It was my will.”

मुनि ने कहा, ‘मैंने बहुत-से कटु वचन कहे हैं; मेरे पाप कैसे मिटेंगे?’

The sage said, “I have spoken many harsh words; how will my sins be erased?”

‘जाकर शंकर के सौ नामों का जप करो; तुम्हारे हृदय में तुरंत शांति होगी।’

“Go and repeat Shiva’s hundred names; your heart will immediately find peace.”

‘मुझे शिव के समान प्रिय कोई नहीं है। इस विश्वास को भूलकर भी मत छोड़ना।’

“No one is as dear to me as Shiva. Never abandon this conviction, even inadvertently.”
