सभी स्त्री-पुरुष शोक से व्याकुल थे। वह दिन बिना जल ग्रहण किए बीत गया।

पशुओं, पक्षियों और वन्य मृगों ने भी भोजन नहीं किया; तब प्रिय परिजनों की दशा का क्या कहना!
