भरत पर गुरु का अनुराग देखकर राम के हृदय में विशेष आनंद हुआ।

Seeing the guru’s affection for Bharata, Rama felt exceptional joy in his heart.

भरत को धर्म का भार सँभालने वाला और तन, मन तथा वाणी से अपना सेवक जानकर,

Knowing Bharata to be an upholder of righteousness and his own servant in body, mind, and speech,

राम गुरु की आज्ञा के अनुरूप सुंदर, कोमल और मंगल के मूल वचन बोले।

Rama spoke words in accord with the guru’s command—gracious, gentle, and a source of auspiciousness.

हे नाथ, आपकी शपथ और पिता के चरणों की दुहाई देकर कहता हूँ: संसार में भरत जैसा भाई नहीं हुआ।

Master, I swear by you and invoke my father’s feet: there has never been a brother like Bharata in the world.

जो गुरु के चरण-कमलों से प्रेम करते हैं, वे लोक और वेद दोनों की दृष्टि में बड़े भाग्यवान हैं।

Those devoted to the guru’s lotus feet are greatly fortunate in the estimation of both the world and the Vedas.

जिस भरत पर आपका ऐसा प्रेम है, उसके सौभाग्य का वर्णन कौन कर सकता है?

Who can describe Bharata’s good fortune, when you bear such affection toward him?
