हे तात, यह बात राम की कृपा से ही सत्य होगी; राम से विमुख होने पर स्वप्न में भी सफलता नहीं मिलती।

Dear son, this can come true only through Rama’s grace; one who turns away from Rama finds no success even in a dream.

हे तात, एक बात कहते मुझे संकोच होता है: सब कुछ हाथ से जाता देख बुद्धिमान आधा छोड़ देते हैं।

Dear son, I hesitate to say one thing: when all is being lost, the wise relinquish half.

तुम दोनों भाई वन चले जाओ; लक्ष्मण, सीता और राम को लौटाया जाए।

You two brothers should go to the forest, and Lakshmana, Sita, and Rama should be brought back.

ये सुंदर वचन सुनकर दोनों भाई हर्षित हुए; उनके शरीर आनंद से भर गए।

Hearing these gracious words, both brothers rejoiced; their bodies became filled with delight.

उनके मन प्रसन्न हुए और शरीर पर तेज छा गया, मानो राजा दशरथ जी उठे हों और राम राजा बन गए हों।

Their hearts were glad and their bodies shone, as though King Dasharatha had come back to life and Rama had become king.

लोगों को इसमें बहुत लाभ और थोड़ी हानि दिखाई दी; सभी रानियाँ सुख और दुःख की समान अनुभूति से रोने लगीं।

The people saw great gain and little loss in this; all the queens wept, feeling sorrow and joy in equal measure.
