माता कैकेयी के किए को याद करके भरत संकोच करते हैं और मन में असंख्य आशंकापूर्ण विचार करते हैं।

Recalling his mother Kaikeyi’s deeds, Bharata feels ashamed and entertains countless anxious conjectures in his mind.

भरत सोचते हैं: कहीं राम, लक्ष्मण और सीता मेरा नाम सुनकर उठ न जाएँ और यह स्थान छोड़कर कहीं और न चले जाएँ।

Bharata fears: might Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita hear my name, rise, and leave this place for somewhere else?

मुझे माता की योजना में सम्मिलित मानकर वे जो कुछ भी करें, वह कम ही होगा।

If they regard me as a party to my mother’s scheme, whatever they do to me would be little enough.

पर वे अपने स्वभाव का विचार करके मेरे पाप और अवगुण क्षमा कर मुझे आदर देंगे।

Yet, mindful of their own nature, they will forgive my sins and faults and receive me with honor.
