भले ही अंधकार प्रखर सूर्य को निगल ले और आकाश बादलों में मिलकर लीन हो जाए।

Even if darkness were to swallow the vigorous sun, and the sky were to merge into the clouds and disappear.

भले ही अगस्त्य मुनि गाय के खुर के निशान में भरे जल में डूब जाएँ और पृथ्वी अपनी स्वाभाविक क्षमा छोड़ दे।

Even if the sage Agastya were to drown in the water of a cow's hoofprint, and the earth were to abandon her innate forbearance.

भले ही मच्छर अपनी फूँक से मेरु पर्वत उड़ा दे, पर हे भाई, भरत को राजसत्ता का मद नहीं होगा।

Even if a mosquito were to blow Mount Meru away with its breath, brother, Bharata would never become intoxicated with royal power.

हे लक्ष्मण, मैं तुम्हारी और पिता की शपथ कहता हूँ: भरत के समान पवित्र और उत्तम भाई कोई नहीं है।

Lakshmana, I swear by you and by our father: no brother is as pure and good as Bharata.

हे प्रिय, सद्गुण दूध हैं और अवगुण जल; विधाता इन्हें मिलाकर यह संसार रचता है।

Dear one, virtues are milk and faults are water; the Creator mixes them to fashion the world.

सूर्यवंश रूपी सरोवर में भरत हंस हैं; जन्म लेकर उन्होंने गुण और दोष को अलग कर दिया।

Bharata is the swan in the lake of the Solar dynasty; upon taking birth, he distinguished virtues from faults.
