जगत भय में डूब गया। आकाशवाणी हुई, जिसने लक्ष्मण के विशाल बाहुबल का वर्णन किया।

The world was engulfed in fear. A heavenly voice arose, describing Lakshmana’s immense strength.

हे प्रिय, तुम्हारा प्रताप और प्रभाव कौन कह सकता है, और कौन उसे जानने वाला है?

Dear one, who can describe your might and power, and who can truly know them?

कार्य अनुचित हो या उचित, कोई भी हो—उसे समझ-विचारकर करना अच्छा है, ऐसा सब कहते हैं।

Whatever the undertaking, improper or proper, everyone says it is best to act after careful consideration.

जो बिना विचार किए काम करके बाद में पछताते हैं, वे बुद्धिमान नहीं हैं—वेद और ज्ञानी ऐसा कहते हैं।

Those who act rashly and regret it afterward are not wise, say the Vedas and the learned.

देववाणी सुनकर लक्ष्मण संकुचित हुए। राम और सीता ने उनका आदरपूर्वक सम्मान किया।

Hearing the divine words, Lakshmana felt abashed. Rama and Sita honored him respectfully.

राम ने कहा: हे प्रिय, तुमने सुंदर नीति की बात कही। भाई, राजसत्ता का मद सबसे कठिन है।

Rama said: Dear one, you have spoken sound counsel. Brother, the intoxication of royal power is the hardest of all to withstand.
