अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.192

सुनकर गुह कहते हैं, ‘बूढ़ा ठीक कहता है। मूर्ख लोग बिना सोचे जल्दबाजी करके पछताते हैं।’

Hearing this, Guha says, “The elder speaks rightly. Fools act rashly and then regret it.”

भरत के स्वभाव और शील को समझे बिना, वास्तविक बात जाने बिना लड़ने से अपने हित की बड़ी हानि होगी।

Fighting without understanding Bharata’s nature and character, and without knowing the facts, would greatly harm our own interests.

हे योद्धाओ, सब एकत्र होकर घाटों पर डटे रहो; मैं जाकर भरत से मिलकर उनका अभिप्राय जान लूँ।

Warriors, gather together and hold the river landings; I will go meet Bharata and learn his intention.

उनका भाव मित्र का है, शत्रु का है या तटस्थ का—यह समझकर फिर लौटकर उसी के अनुसार कार्य करूँगा।

After determining whether his disposition is friendly, hostile, or neutral, I will return and act accordingly.
