राम पवित्र हैं और विषय-सुखों में उनकी रुचि नहीं; मैं लोभी हूँ, राज्य और भोगों का भूखा हूँ।

Rama is pure and indifferent to sensual pleasures; I am greedy, hungry for dominion and enjoyment.

अपने हृदय की कठोरता कहाँ तक कहूँ, जिसने वज्र को भी तुच्छ ठहराकर कठोरता में उससे बढ़कर प्रतिष्ठा पाई है?

How far can I describe my heart’s hardness? It has surpassed even the thunderbolt, earning distinction in hardness.

कार्य अपने कारण से अधिक कठोर होता है; इसमें मेरा दोष नहीं।

An effect is harder than its cause; the fault is not mine.

वज्र हड्डी से और लोहा पत्थर से अधिक भयंकर और कठोर होता है।

The thunderbolt is more formidable and harder than bone, and iron than stone.
