मेरा हित सीतापति राम की सेवा में है; माता की कुटिलता ने वह छीन ली।

My welfare lies in serving Rama, Sita’s husband; my mother’s crookedness has taken that away.

मैंने मन में विचार करके देखा है कि किसी अन्य उपाय से मेरा हित नहीं हो सकता।

Having considered it in my mind, I see no other means to my welfare.

लक्ष्मण, राम और सीता के चरणों को देखे बिना, शोक का समूह बने इस राज्य का क्या मूल्य है?

Without seeing the feet of Lakshmana, Rama, and Sita, what worth has this kingdom, a heap of sorrow?

वस्त्रों के बिना भारी आभूषण व्यर्थ हैं, और वैराग्य के बिना ब्रह्म का विचार व्यर्थ है।

Heavy ornaments are useless without clothing, and contemplation of Brahman is useless without detachment.

रोगग्रस्त शरीर के लिए अनेक भोग व्यर्थ हैं; हरि की भक्ति के बिना जप और योग व्यर्थ हैं।

Many enjoyments are useless for an ailing body; without devotion to Hari, recitation and yoga are fruitless.

जीव के बिना सुंदर देह व्यर्थ है; वैसे ही रघुनाथ राम के बिना मेरा सब कुछ व्यर्थ है।

A beautiful body is useless without its living soul; likewise, everything of mine is useless without Rama, lord of Raghu’s lineage.
