मैं सच कहता हूँ; सब सुनकर विश्वास करें। राजा धर्मशील होना चाहिए।

I speak the truth; let everyone hear and believe it. A king should be righteous.

जब आप हठ करके मुझे राज्य देंगे, तभी पृथ्वी रसातल में चली जाएगी।

The moment you insist on giving me the kingdom, the earth will sink into the netherworld.

मेरे समान पापों का घर कौन है, जिसके कारण सीता और राम को वनवास हुआ?

Who is an abode of sin like me, on whose account Sita and Rama went into exile?

राजा दशरथ ने राम को वनवास दिया और उनसे बिछुड़ते ही स्वर्ग को प्रस्थान किया।

King Dasharatha sent Rama to the forest and, upon being parted from him, departed for heaven.

मैं मूर्ख ही सब अनर्थों का कारण हूँ, फिर भी बैठा होश में सारी बातें सुन रहा हूँ।

I, a fool, am the cause of all these calamities, yet I sit fully conscious and hear everything.

राम के बिना घर देखकर और संसार का उपहास सहकर भी मेरे प्राण बने रहे।

Even after seeing the home without Rama and enduring the world’s ridicule, I remained alive.
