अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.127

यह जगत एक नाट्य है, आप उसके देखनेवाले हैं और ब्रह्मा, विष्णु तथा शिव को भी नचानेवाले हैं।

The world is a dramatic spectacle; you are its observer and the one who makes even Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva dance.

वे भी आपका मर्म नहीं जानते; फिर और कौन आपको जाननेवाला है?

Even they do not know your inner mystery; who else, then, can know you?

वही आपको जानता है जिसे आप अपना स्वरूप जना देते हैं; आपको जानकर वह आप ही हो जाता है।

Only the one to whom you reveal yourself knows you; upon knowing you, that person becomes you yourself.

हे रघुनंदन, भक्तों के हृदय को चंदन की तरह शीतल करनेवाले! आपकी ही कृपा से भक्त आपको जानते हैं।

O Rama, joy of Raghu’s lineage and sandalwood that soothes devotees’ hearts, devotees know you only through your grace.

आपकी देह चेतना और आनंद से पूर्ण तथा विकारों से रहित है; इस सत्य को योग्य ज्ञाता जानता है।

Your body is full of consciousness and bliss, free from alteration or defect; one qualified to understand knows this.

आपने संतों और देवताओं के कार्य के लिए मनुष्य का शरीर धारण किया है; आप साधारण राजा की तरह बोलते और कार्य करते हैं।

You have assumed a human body for the purposes of saints and gods; you speak and act like an ordinary king.
