अरण्यकाण्ड 3.42

यद्यपि प्रभु के अनेक नाम हैं और वेद उन्हें एक से बढ़कर एक बताते हैं,

Although the Lord has many names, and the Vedas declare each more excellent than another,

हे नाथ! ‘राम’ नाम सभी नामों से श्रेष्ठ हो और पापरूपी पक्षियों के समूह का वधिक हो।

O Lord, may the name ‘Rama’ excel all names and be the slayer of the flock of birds that represent sins.

आपकी भक्ति पूर्णिमा की रात है और ‘राम’ नाम उसमें चंद्रमा है।

Devotion to you is the full-moon night, and the name ‘Rama’ is its moon.

अन्य नाम निर्मल तारों के समूह हैं; वे भक्तों के हृदयरूपी आकाश में बसें।

The other names are a host of pure stars; may they dwell in the sky of devotees’ hearts.

कृपा के सागर रघुनाथ ने मुनि से कहा: ऐसा ही हो।

Rama, lord of Raghu’s line and ocean of compassion, said to the sage: So be it.

तब नारद के मन में अत्यंत हर्ष हुआ और उन्होंने प्रभु के चरणों में सिर झुकाया।

Then Narada’s heart filled with great joy, and he bowed his head at the Lord’s feet.
