अरण्यकाण्ड 3.35

मैं तुम्हें नौ प्रकार की भक्ति बताता हूँ। ध्यानपूर्वक सुनो और उसे मन में रखो।

I tell you the nine forms of devotion. Listen attentively and hold them in your mind.

पहली भक्ति संतों की संगति है। दूसरी मेरी कथा के प्रसंगों में प्रेम है।

The first form of devotion is companionship with saints. The second is love for accounts of my deeds.

तीसरी भक्ति है अहंकार रहित होकर गुरु के चरणकमलों की सेवा करना।

The third form of devotion is serving the guru’s lotus feet without pride.

चौथी भक्ति है कपट छोड़कर मेरे अनेक गुणों का गान करना।

The fourth form of devotion is to sing of my manifold virtues, abandoning deceit.
