Joyful Bharata set out with his preceptor, family, younger brother, and a company of Brahmins.

मन में अत्यंत प्रेम लिए भरत कृपा के धाम श्रीराम की ओर चले।

With deep love in his heart, Bharata went toward Rama, the abode of compassion.

बहुत-सी स्त्रियाँ अटारियों पर चढ़ीं और आकाश में विमान को देख रही हैं।

Many women climbed onto the upper terraces and are watching the aerial chariot in the sky.

विमान को देखकर प्रसन्न स्त्रियाँ मधुर स्वर में शुभ मंगलगीत गाती हैं।

Delighted at the sight of the aerial chariot, the women sing auspicious songs in sweet voices.

पूर्णिमा के चंद्रमा-समान श्रीराम को देखकर नगररूपी समुद्र आनंदित हो उठा।

Seeing Rama, likened to the full moon, the city, likened to the ocean, rejoiced.

वह नगररूपी समुद्र कोलाहल करता हुआ उमड़ उठा, मानो स्त्रियाँ उसकी तरंगों के समान हों।

That ocean-like city swelled with a tumult, as though the women were its waves.
