दुष्ट दूसरों की संपत्ति नष्ट करके स्वयं भी नष्ट होते हैं, जैसे ओले फसल को मारकर स्वयं गल जाते हैं; यहाँ ‘ससि’ का पाठ संदिग्ध है।

The wicked destroy others’ wealth and perish themselves, like hailstones that ruin crops and melt away; the reading ‘ससि’ is uncertain here.

दुष्ट का उदय संसार के कष्ट का कारण है, जैसे प्रसिद्ध अशुभ ग्रह केतु का उदय।

The rise of the wicked causes distress in the world, like the rise of the notoriously inauspicious celestial body Ketu.

संतों का उदय सदा सुख देनेवाला है, जैसे चंद्रमा और अंधकार के शत्रु सूर्य संसार को सुख देते हैं।

The appearance of saints always brings happiness, like the moon and the sun, enemy of darkness, bringing joy to the world.

वेदों में अहिंसा सर्वोच्च धर्म कही गई है; हे पक्षिराज, दूसरों की निंदा के समान कोई पाप नहीं।

Nonviolence is known in the Vedas as the highest virtue; O king of birds, no sin equals slandering others.

शिव और गुरु की निंदा करनेवाला मेंढक होता है और हजार जन्मों तक वही शरीर पाता है।

One who slanders Shiva and the guru becomes a frog and receives that body for a thousand births.

ब्राह्मण की निंदा करनेवाला अनेक नरक भोगकर संसार में कौए का शरीर धारण करके जन्म लेता है।

One who slanders a Brahmin undergoes many hells and is born in the world in a crow’s body.
