उत्तरकाण्ड 7.12

वेद और पुराण पवित्र पर्वत हैं, और राम की विविध कथाएँ उनमें सुंदर खदानें हैं।

The Vedas and Puranas are sacred mountains, and the many narratives of Rama are beautiful mines within them.

सज्जन इनके मर्मज्ञ खोजी हैं, सद्बुद्धि कुदाल है और ज्ञान तथा वैराग्य आँखें हैं, हे गरुड़।

Good people are the discerning seekers, sound understanding is the pickaxe, and knowledge and detachment are the eyes, O Garuda.

जो प्राणी श्रद्धाभाव से खोजता है, वह सभी सुखों की खान, भक्ति रूपी मणि पा जाता है।

Whoever searches with heartfelt devotion obtains the jewel of devotion, the mine of every happiness.

हे प्रभु, मेरे मन में ऐसा विश्वास है कि राम का सेवक राम से भी बढ़कर है।

My lord, I hold this conviction in my heart: Rama's servant is even greater than Rama.

राम समुद्र हैं और धीर सज्जन बादल; हरि चंदन का वृक्ष हैं और संत हवा।

Rama is the ocean and steadfast good people are clouds; Hari is the sandalwood tree and saints are the breeze.

सबका फल हरि की सुंदर भक्ति है; संतों के बिना वह किसी ने नहीं पाई।

The fruit of all is beautiful devotion to Hari; no one has obtained it without saints.
