ऐसा सज्जन मेरे हृदय में कैसे बसता है? जैसे लोभी के हृदय में धन बसता है।

How does such a virtuous person dwell in my heart? As wealth dwells in a greedy person's heart.

तुम्हारे जैसे संत मुझे प्रिय हैं; उन्हीं के लिए मैं देह धारण करता हूँ, किसी अन्य के आग्रह से नहीं।

Saints like you are dear to me; for their sake I take bodily form, not at another's entreaty.

जो सगुण रूप के उपासक हैं, परहित में लगे रहते हैं और नीति तथा नियम में दृढ़ हैं—

Those who worship the divine with attributes, are devoted to others' welfare, and are steadfast in right conduct and observances—

और जिन्हें ब्राह्मणों के चरणों से प्रेम है, वे मनुष्य मुझे अपने प्राणों के समान प्रिय हैं।

and who love the feet of Brahmins—such people are as dear to me as my own life.
