ऐसा कहकर विभीषण को दंडवत करते देखा तो प्रभु राम अत्यंत हर्षित होकर तुरंत उठे।

Seeing Vibhishana prostrate himself after saying this, Lord Rama immediately rose in great joy.

विभीषण के विनम्र वचन सुनकर प्रभु का मन प्रसन्न हुआ। उन्होंने अपनी विशाल भुजाओं से पकड़कर उन्हें हृदय से लगा लिया।

Vibhishana’s humble words pleased the Lord. Taking hold of him with his mighty arms, Rama embraced him.

छोटे भाई लक्ष्मण सहित विभीषण से मिलकर राम ने उन्हें पास बैठाया और भक्तों का भय हरने वाले वचन बोले।

Together with his younger brother Lakshmana, Rama greeted Vibhishana, seated him nearby, and spoke words that dispel devotees’ fear.

हे लंकापति विभीषण, बताओ, परिवार सहित कुशल से हो? तुम्हारा निवास तो बुरे स्थान में है।

Tell me, lord of Lanka, are you and your family well? Your dwelling is in an evil place.

तुम दिन-रात दुष्टों की मंडली में रहते हो। मित्र, ऐसे में धर्म किस प्रकार निभता है?

You live day and night among the wicked. Friend, how can righteous conduct be maintained there?

मैं तुम्हारा सारा आचरण जानता हूँ। तुम नीति में अत्यंत निपुण हो और अनीति तुम्हें नहीं भाती।

I know all your ways. You are highly skilled in right conduct, and wrongdoing does not appeal to you.
