Merely thinking of his envoy’s deeds causes the demons’ wives to miscarry.

हे प्रिय पति, यदि भलाई चाहते हैं तो अपने सचिव को बुलाकर उनकी पत्नी सीता को वापस भेज दीजिए।

Dear husband, if you wish for well-being, summon your minister and send his wife Sita back.

सीता आपके कुलरूपी कमल-वन के लिए दुखदायी शीत-रात्रि के समान आई हैं। (‘तब’ का पाठ यहाँ संदिग्ध है।)

Sita has come like a cold night, harmful to the lotus-grove of your lineage. (The reading ‘तब’ is uncertain here.)

हे नाथ, सुनिए: सीता को लौटाए बिना, शिव और ब्रह्मा के प्रयास करने पर भी आपका हित नहीं हो सकता।

Listen, my lord: unless Sita is returned, even efforts by Shiva and Brahma cannot secure your welfare.

राम के बाण सर्पों के समूह जैसे हैं और राक्षसों के झुंड मेंढकों जैसे हैं।

Rama’s arrows are like hosts of snakes, and the demon hordes are like frogs.

जब तक वे उन्हें निगल नहीं लेते, तब तक अपनी हठ छोड़कर बचाव का उपाय कीजिए।

Before those arrows devour the demons, abandon your obstinacy and take measures to avert disaster.
