सुन्दरकाण्ड 5.2

सुरसा ने अपना मुख एक योजन तक फैलाया; हनुमान ने अपने शरीर का विस्तार उससे दुगुना कर लिया।

Surasa opened her mouth to a span of one yojana; Hanuman expanded his body to twice that size.

उसने मुख को सोलह योजन तक फैलाया; पवनपुत्र तुरंत बत्तीस योजन के हो गए।

She enlarged her mouth to sixteen yojanas; the wind god’s son immediately grew to thirty-two yojanas.

जैसे-जैसे सुरसा मुख बढ़ाती गई, हनुमान उससे दुगुना आकार दिखाते गए।

As Surasa kept enlarging her mouth, Hanuman displayed a form twice its size.

उसने अपना मुख सौ योजन का किया; पवनपुत्र ने अत्यंत छोटा रूप धारण कर लिया।

She made her mouth a hundred yojanas wide; Hanuman assumed an exceedingly small form.

मुख में प्रवेश करके वे फिर बाहर आ गए। उन्होंने विदा माँगी और सुरसा को सिर झुकाकर प्रणाम किया।

He entered her mouth and then came out again. He asked leave to depart and bowed his head to Surasa.

सुरसा बोली, “देवताओं ने जिस उद्देश्य से मुझे भेजा था, उसके अनुसार मैंने तुम्हारी बुद्धि और बल का मर्म जान लिया।”

Surasa said, “I have understood the true extent of your intelligence and strength, fulfilling the purpose for which the gods sent me.”

“तुम राम के सभी कार्य पूरे करोगे; तुम बल और बुद्धि के भंडार हो।”

“You will accomplish all of Rama’s tasks; you are a storehouse of strength and intelligence.”

आशीर्वाद देकर सुरसा चली गई और हनुमान प्रसन्न होकर आगे चले।

Surasa departed after giving her blessing, and Hanuman joyfully continued on his way.
