सीता ने कहा: भाई, जिसने कानों के लिए अमृत जैसी सुंदर कथा कही है, वह सामने प्रकट क्यों नहीं होता?

Sita said: Brother, why does the one who told this delightful story, nectar to the ears, not show himself?

तब हनुमान पास चले गए। सीता फिर मुड़कर बैठ गईं; उनके मन में विस्मय हुआ।

Then Hanuman went nearer. Sita turned and sat, and wonder arose in her mind.

हे माता जानकी, मैं राम का दूत हूँ; करुणा के भंडार राम की सच्ची शपथ कहता हूँ।

Mother Janaki, I am Rama’s messenger; I swear truly by Rama, the treasury of compassion.

माता, यह अँगूठी मैं लाया हूँ; राम ने आपके लिए पहचान के प्रमाण के रूप में दी है।

Mother, I brought this ring; Rama gave it for you as a token of identification.

सीता ने पूछा: बताओ, मनुष्य और वानरों का साथ कैसे हुआ? हनुमान ने कथा कही कि वह संगति कैसे बनी।

Sita asked: Tell me, how did humans and monkeys come together? Hanuman told the story of how that alliance arose.

हनुमान के प्रेमभरे वचन सुनकर सीता के मन में विश्वास उत्पन्न हुआ।

Hearing Hanuman’s loving words, trust arose in Sita’s mind.

सीता ने जान लिया कि यह हनुमान मन, कर्म और वचन से कृपा के सागर राम के सेवक हैं; यहाँ ‘क्रम’ का पाठ संदिग्ध है।
