सभा में आकर रावण ने मंत्रियों से पूछा, ‘शत्रु से युद्ध किस प्रकार किया जाए?’

Coming into the assembly, Ravana asked the ministers, ‘How shall we fight the enemy?’

मंत्री कहते हैं, ‘हे राक्षसों के स्वामी, सुनिए! प्रभु, आप बार-बार क्यों पूछते हैं?’

The ministers say, ‘Listen, lord of the demons! Master, why do you keep asking?’

बताइए, किस भय को लेकर विचार किया जाए? मनुष्य, वानर और भालू तो हमारा आहार हैं।

Tell us, what fear is there to consider? Humans, monkeys, and bears are our food.

सबकी बातें कानों से सुनकर प्रहस्त हाथ जोड़कर बोला।

Having heard everyone’s words, Prahasta spoke with folded hands.

हे प्रभु, नीति के विरुद्ध काम न कीजिए; इन मंत्रियों की बुद्धि बहुत थोड़ी है।

My lord, do not act against sound policy; these ministers have very little discernment.
