लङ्काकाण्ड 6.66

कुम्भकर्ण ने सुग्रीव के पैर पकड़ लिए और उन्हें धरती पर पटक दिया। सुग्रीव बड़ी फुर्ती से उठे और फिर उसे मारा।

Kumbhakarna seized Sugriva’s feet and dashed him to the ground. Sugriva sprang up with great agility and struck him again.

फिर बलवान सुग्रीव प्रभु के पास आए और बोले, ‘हे कृपा के भंडार, आपकी जय हो, जय हो, जय हो!’

Then mighty Sugriva came to the Lord, saying, ‘Victory, victory, victory to you, O treasury of compassion!’

नाक और कान कटे जानकर कुम्भकर्ण क्रोध से लौट पड़ा; उसके मन में क्षोभ हुआ।

Realizing that his nose and ears had been cut off, Kumbhakarna turned back in anger, distressed at heart.

वह स्वभाव से ही भयंकर था, और अब कान तथा नाक से रहित था; उसे देखकर वानर-सेना में भय उत्पन्न हुआ।

Already fearsome by nature, he was now without ears and nose; seeing him, the monkey army became terrified.

‘हे रघुवंश के मणि राम, जय हो, जय हो, जय हो!’ कहते हुए वानर हुंकार भरकर दौड़े।

Shouting, ‘Victory, victory, victory to Rama, jewel of Raghu’s lineage!’ the monkeys charged with a great cry.

उन्होंने एक ही बार में कुम्भकर्ण पर पहाड़ों और वृक्षों के समूह फेंक दिए।

All at once, they hurled masses of mountains and trees at Kumbhakarna.
