अब, दुष्ट, बात बढ़ाना मत कर। मेरी बात सुन और अभिमान छोड़ दे।

Wretch, stop prolonging this argument now. Listen to my words and give up your pride.

हे दशमुख रावण, मैं दूत बनकर यहाँ आने वाला न था; रघुवीर ने ऐसा विचार करके मुझे भेजा है।

Ten-headed Ravana, I would not have come as an envoy; Rama sent me after considering this.

कृपालु राम बार-बार ऐसा कहते हैं कि सियार को मारने से सिंह को यश नहीं मिलता।

Compassionate Rama repeatedly says that a lion gains no glory by killing a jackal.

हे मूर्ख, प्रभु के वचनों को मन में समझकर मैंने तेरे कठोर वचन सहे हैं।

Fool, keeping my lord’s words in mind, I have endured your harsh words.

नहीं तो तेरा मुँह तोड़कर मैं सीता को बलपूर्वक ले जाता।

Otherwise, I would have smashed your face and taken Sita away by force.

हे नीच, देवताओं के शत्रु, मैं तेरा बल जान गया हूँ: तू सूने अवसर में दूसरे की पत्नी को हरकर ले आया।

Base enemy of the gods, I know your strength: you abducted another man’s wife when she was unprotected and brought her here.
