वरुण, कुबेर, इंद्र और वायु—किसी ने भी युद्ध में आपके सामने धैर्य नहीं रखा।

Varuna, Kubera, Indra, and the wind god—none could remain steadfast facing you in battle.

हे स्वामी, आपने अपनी भुजाओं के बल से काल और यम को जीत लिया था; आज आप अनाथ की तरह पड़े हैं।

O lord, by the strength of your arms you conquered Death and Yama; today you lie like one with no protector.

आपका प्रभुत्व संसार में प्रसिद्ध है; आपके पुत्रों और परिजनों के बल का वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता।

Your dominion is renowned throughout the world; the strength of your sons and kin cannot be described.

राम से विमुख होने के कारण आपकी ऐसी दशा हुई; कुल में कोई रोने वाला भी नहीं रहा।

Turning away from Rama has brought you to this condition; no one remains in the lineage even to mourn.

हे नाथ, ब्रह्मा की सारी सृष्टि आपके वश में थी; दिशाओं के रक्षक भयभीत होकर नित्य सिर झुकाते थे।

O lord, all of Brahma's creation was under your control; the guardians of the directions constantly bowed their heads in fear.

अब आपके सिर और भुजाएँ सियार खाते हैं; राम से विमुख व्यक्ति के लिए यह अनुचित नहीं है।

Now jackals eat your heads and arms; for one opposed to Rama, this is not an unfitting outcome.
