किष्किन्धाकाण्ड 4.3

हे वानर, सुनो, मन में अपने को कम मत समझो। तुम मुझे लक्ष्मण से दुगुने प्रिय हो।

Listen, Hanuman: do not consider yourself lesser in your heart. You are twice as dear to me as Lakshmana.

सब लोग मुझे समदर्शी कहते हैं, पर सेवक मुझे प्रिय है, और वह भी जो मेरे अतिरिक्त कोई आश्रय नहीं रखता।

Everyone calls me impartial, yet a servant is dear to me—one who has no refuge other than me.

हे हनुमान, वही अनन्य है जिसकी यह समझ कभी नहीं डिगती:

Hanuman, that person is exclusively devoted whose following conviction never wavers:

‘मैं सेवक हूँ और समस्त चर-अचर जगत जिनका रूप है, वे भगवान मेरे स्वामी हैं।’

‘I am the servant, and the Lord, whose form is the entire moving and unmoving world, is my master.’
