किष्किन्धाकाण्ड 4.1

“हे वीरों, श्याम और गौर शरीर वाले तुम कौन हो, जो क्षत्रिय वेश में वन में घूम रहे हो?”

“Who are you, heroes, one dark-complexioned and the other fair, roaming the forest in the guise of warriors?”

“हे स्वामियों, तुम कोमल पैरों से कठोर भूमि पर चलते हो; किस कारण वन में विचर रहे हो?”

“O lords, you tread hard ground with tender feet; for what reason do you wander in the forest?”

“तुम्हारे शरीर कोमल, मनोहर और सुंदर हैं, फिर भी तुम वन की असह्य धूप और हवा सह रहे हो।”

“Your bodies are delicate, charming, and beautiful, yet you endure the forest’s unbearable sun and wind.”

“क्या तुम तीन देवों में से कोई हो, अथवा तुम दोनों नर और नारायण हो?”

“Are you among the three gods, or are you the pair Nara and Narayana?”

“जगत के कारण, संसार से पार उतारने वाले और पृथ्वी का भार मिटाने वाले—”

“The cause of the world, deliverer from worldly existence, and remover of the earth’s burden—”

“क्या तुम समस्त लोकों के स्वामी हो, जिन्होंने मनुष्य का अवतार लिया है?”

“Are you the lord of all worlds, who has taken human incarnation?”
