बरात नगर के निकट आ गई है, यह सुनकर नगर में चहल-पहल मच गई और शोभा बढ़ गई।

Hearing that the wedding procession had arrived near the city, the city bustled with activity and grew still more splendid.

तैयारी करके और तरह-तरह के वाहन सजाकर स्वागत करने वाले लोग आदरपूर्वक बरात को लेने चले।

After making preparations and adorning various vehicles, the welcoming party set out respectfully to receive the wedding procession.

देवताओं की सेना देखकर वे मन में हर्षित हुए और विष्णु को देखकर अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए।

Seeing the host of gods, they rejoiced in their hearts; seeing Vishnu, they became exceedingly happy.

जब वे शिव के दल को देखने लगे, तब सभी सवारी के पशु डरकर भाग चले।

When they began looking at Shiva’s company, all the riding animals took fright and fled.

समझदार लोग धीरज रखकर वहीं रहे, पर सभी बालक अपनी जान बचाकर भाग गए।

The sensible people held their composure and stayed there, but all the children fled for their lives.

जब बच्चे घर पहुँचे, माता-पिता ने पूछा; बच्चे भय से काँपते शरीर के साथ बोलने लगे।

When the children reached home, their parents questioned them; the children spoke with their bodies trembling in fear.
