भाई, बारात दूल्हे के अनुरूप नहीं है। दूसरे के नगर जाकर तुम हँसी कराओगे।

Brother, the wedding party does not match the bridegroom. You will invite ridicule when you reach the other town.

विष्णु के वचन सुनकर देवता मुसकराए और अपनी-अपनी सेना सहित अलग हो गए।

Hearing Vishnu's words, the gods smiled and moved apart, each with his own company.

महेश मन-ही-मन मुसकराते हैं; हरि के व्यंग्यपूर्ण वचन उनसे छिपे नहीं रहते।

Shiva smiles inwardly; the teasing intent of Vishnu's words does not escape him.

अपने प्रिय विष्णु के अत्यंत प्रिय वचन सुनते ही शिव ने भृंगी को भेजकर सभी गणों को बुलाया।

On hearing the very pleasing words of his dear Vishnu, Shiva directed Bhringi to summon all his attendants.

शिव की आज्ञा सुनकर सब आए और उन्होंने प्रभु के चरण-कमलों पर सिर झुकाए।

Hearing Shiva's command, they all came and bowed their heads at their lord's lotus feet.

उनके वाहन अनेक प्रकार के थे और वेश भी अनेक प्रकार के; अपना यह समाज देखकर शिव हँस पड़े।

Their mounts and appearances were of many kinds; Shiva laughed on seeing his own company.
