वे बार-बार उमा को हृदय से लगा लेती थीं; भावावेश से कंठ रुँध गया था, इसलिए कुछ कहा नहीं जाता था।

Again and again she clasped Uma to her heart; her throat choked with emotion, and she could say nothing.

जगत की माता, सर्वज्ञ भवानी ने अपनी माता को सुख देने वाली कोमल वाणी बोली।

Bhavani, the omniscient Mother of the world, spoke gentle words that comforted her mother.

माँ, सुनो; मैंने ऐसा स्वप्न देखा है, जिसे तुम्हें सुनाती हूँ।

Listen, Mother: I saw a dream like this, which I shall tell you.

एक सुंदर, गौरवर्ण, श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण ने मुझे ऐसा उपदेश दिया।

A handsome, fair-complexioned, excellent Brahmin gave me this counsel.
